Issue: I am simply adding this webpart to a publishing page (signed in as an Administrator to the site when I am performing this operation) and when I want to just save the page from the ribbon it tries to validate the webpart/form for the correct text. So I can't get away from the page and keep the webPart in place... it won't save it to the page. I changed the cancel button to navigate to the Home Page when pressed, but when I return to the page were this webpart is suppose to be, it's gone... it didn't save it. Any ideas?
If I use a WebPart Page it works fine... just curious why a publishing page won't work?
This is a known issue with SharePoint and web parts containing validation controls. You have to fill in the missing fields on the web part before you save the page.
