Error in event log and in User Management

Hello,

I have searched far and wide and your FBA management solution has the most functionality and is a good tool.  I am having a hard time getting to to work in my Foundation evironment however and we woudl like to stick with your solution aas it is most complete.  We are using FBA with SQL 2008R2 and Asp.net.  We deployed your FBA Pack 1.1 and it works for some users but not others.  When we go into User management on the Ste Settings page, we see a list of all users.  When we click on a user, we are brought to the configuration page for that user.  However if a user is a member of a security group in SP for a top level site as well as a sub site's group, then when we click the user in FBA User Management, we get an error page that says the object reference is not set to an instance of an object.

We can repeat this by creating a new user in a test environment.  We create a user and add it to a top level site.  When we click that user in FBA User Management, it works correctly.  However if we add that user to a subsite group (subsite has diferent permissions) then when we go back to FBA User Management, we get the error.  We canot find a way around this and we cannot manage anyone that is amember of multiple groups that contain subsites of top sites.

We have removed and redeployed the solution and see the same results.  We are also seeing an error in the event log of our server when deploying the solution.  Event ID 6644 that reports, "Event manager error: Could not load file or assembly 'Visigo.Sharepoint.FormsBasedAuthentication, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=9dba9f460226d31d' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It sounds like a bug, and is probably this bug:

Could you please add your details to the comments in the bug - then I know how to test for it, and you'll be notified when it's fixed.  I'll put the fix in the next release.

If you don't want to wait for the next release, the author of the issue was kind enough to post a patch.  You can download it here:

Thank you. How is the patch applied?

You will need Visual Studio and you'll have to build the project.
