How to edit and deploy Source Code

I need to customized the code to be able to fit the needs for this project, how do i do that? How can i edit and re-deploy?

You can just open the project from GitHub in Visual Studio on a SharePoint dev machine. Make the changes you require. You can then build and deploy from Visual Studio. When you deploy from Visual Studio it will generate a WSP that you can also use to deploy using the deployment scripts that come with the project.
