I am unable to open the solution in Visual Studio 2015, am I missing something?
I use Visual Studio 2017 to work with the project. Make sure you have the Visual Studio Office/SharePoint Development option installed with the Visual Studio Installer. You should have SharePoint installed on the same machine you have Visual Studio. Also, make sure that you’re on the 2016 branch to be working with the latest version of the code.
