Use another MembershipProvider

Hello,

Is it possible to use another membershipprovider ?
I want to use Dynamics CRM as MembershipProvider to authentciate users for access to an extranet sharepoint 2013 site.

It is, as long as it fully supports all of the MembershipProvider functionality (and many don't). I have created a custom MembershipProvider for a client (to authenticate users via SalesForce), and that worked just fine.
